Hello,
I am the volunteer from the F3 Oakland organization that sponsors a quarterly art show every three months at the Cotton Mill Studios on 1091 Calcot Place in Oakland California.
For the show we are interested in volunteers to help with the show. We need help setting up artwork, chairs, tables, helping with concessions, involved with vendors and artists etc.
We have an event on Friday, April 16th and would definitely be interested in volunteers helping out. Please contact me if you have any questions or know of volunteers that can help. This will be great for artists, students and retirees interested in the Oakland art community.
My telephone number is 925.518.5498.
Regards,
George Liao

A cancer patients’ most common need is transportation to and from treatment. The Road to Recovery program provides volunteer drivers to transport patients to and from their life-saving treatments. We are in search of a Coordinator.
The Coordinator will work through a Road to Recovery email account, so computer literacy, with communication and organizational skills are a must. You will be working directly with the Patient Service Center and the Drivers. It's a rewarding volunteer position. The Road Coordinator position would occupy about 2-3 hours a day. Requests are steady but not overwhelming.

I would like to help mothers or fathers take care of their children so they are able to work. I was going to volunteer in a pre-school but I feel there is a need for competent, responsible and loving volunteers to help people who are struggling. I could probably find other qualified people that would be willing to donate their time. I, personally would be willing to go to the parent's house or they could bring the children to mine. I am just not sure how to get started with this. I would be willing to furnish references, be finger printed, etc., anything to prove children would be safe with me. If you have any suggestions as to how I could get this started or if there is such a service that I could join, I would be very grateful. I live in Venice, Fl. I am retired but in good health. I play tennis 3 or 4 times a week. So I want to do something useful. Oh, by the way, I have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Thank you for any advice. Sincerely, Sharon Hagedorn 573-286-6209

When these ads pop up, I'm amazed at the diversity of volunteers in our community. Thanks to all the youth, the working people, the retirees and the corporate groups who make a difference for all of us. We live in paradise and it's not all because of beaches and palm trees!
